Designed in Czechoslovakia at the Josef Inwald Glassworks during the 1930's, this exquisite line of Bohemian glass was originally imported to England under the name "Barolac", a trademark registered in 1935 by John Jenkins & Son of London. Emulating the style of Lalique, Sabino and Etling, Barolac utilized similar finishing techniques to produce a line of quality art glass, which rivaled those esteemed French glass makers.
This extraordinary and very hard to find Inwald/Barolac Dragon bowl, shape #12109 produced in Czechoslovakia, features a remarkably detailed rendering of four Chinese 5-clawed Dragons, the serpents undulating over the satin etched outer surface.
Condition is excellent, free from chipping or cracking, with minimal age-appropriate wear to the base.
