We found these unusual candlesticks in a shop along the Connecticut shoreline, and were immediately captivated! These generously proportioned floriform candlesticks have a strong Art Nouveau or Arts and Crafts presence, and are, according to the shop owner, made from plaster dipped in copper, and had at some point been accented with color, traces of which are still visible. Please note that the candle cups are unusually large, and would require some adaptation to hold standard tapers.
Each candlestick weighs in at a substantial 2 lbs., and both are in excellent vintage condition. They bear a mark of a "C" in a circle at the outside base edge, which could either be an unknown makers mark, or, more likely, a copyright symbol.
