When Kenneth Haley, who, with his father Reuben had created Consolidated's Martele' line of art glass in 1926, left Consolidated for the Phoenix Glass Company in 1932 he took with him 45 of the Consolidated Martele' molds, which were to become Phoenix's "Reuben Line", so named to honor his father, who had passed away in September of 1933, and the basis for their "Sculptured Artware" line of art glass. This expanded line of glass was in production by 1934, and featured new pieces and finishes.
This exquisite Phoenix Glass Reuben Line "Pine Cone" vase, produced using the Consolidated Martele' mold, features sprays of pinecones and needles rendered in satin crystal with a stunning and rare dark blue wash.
