There's no guessing as to the age of this lovely pin. It dates to 1905 ("f" hallmark), and has the Birmingham anchor assay mark, so we know it's English. The pin is also marked "15" and "625" (15 Kt mark), and the maker's name "NBs". It also has the engraved initials of the owner "E.A." The pin is really beautiful, with grapevine and grape leaves along the length of a bar that ends with two lovely finial type ends. The "c" clasp and hinged pin are in perfect condition. The pin measures 1 3/4", 1/3" wide, and weighs 3 grams. It has a safety pin on chain that hooks into a ring on the back of the pin. The safety pin is not gold (these usually weren't ...and it is removable). The lovely dark blue paper or leather covered box with gold embossing on the top and push-button lock shows that this was purchased at A&J Thomson, 32 St. Nicholas St. in Scarborough. Box is in great condition. Pin is in gorgeous condition as well.
