The date of this ring needs no guesswork. There is a date in gold set onto the onyx side of the ring. It is 1930. So, now that we know the date, what else can we say about this lovely ring: The flip side of the date is a lovely period shell cameo of a girl in profile. The girl and the onyx stone are in a bezel setting that swivels and clicks into place. The gorgeous ring, with typical art deco pierced filigree-type work is marked 14K and PAT. (patent). The ring is in great condition, except that the onyx is cracked. However, it is solid and will not break further (the 1930 date piece ensures that). The ring is a U.S. size 6 1/2, and it weighs 3 1/2 grams. The emerald shape top (the part that swivels) measures 11 X 9 mm.
