Stunning small scent bottle, marked 800 (Continental silver) and another unidentified mark on the lid. This tactile little piece is beautifully chased and engraved all over with acanthus leaves and floral sprays. Truly a joy to behold ... and hold! I am assuming it's Austrian or Austro-Hungarian. And, by the style and workmanship, I think I can safely date this to the last quarter of the 19th century. There is an unengraved cartouche on one side. It measures just over 1 3/4" wide X just over 1 3/4" high, and is exactly 1 cm. thick. It weighs 15 grams. Silver dauber is attached to the lid. Everything in excellent condition.
