This deep velvety emerald green vase with relief acid etched and gilded classical elements - lyres and torches separated by ribbons of leaves - is real eye candy. I just love looking at it. Its style is typical of the late 19th c. - bordering on art nouveau. It stands about 4 1/2" high, and is about 6 1/2" in diameter at its widest. Aside from a bit of wear on the gilding (a few leaves), it is in perfect condition. It has a smooth pontil. I am sure this is made by a very very good company, but it is not signed, and therefore I have no indication of its origin. It is probably French, but could just as well be Czech, or even American.
