William Hogarth Portrait, (self-portrait?) mid 18th c. watercolor on vellum in magnificently carved bronze frame, which was at one time gilded. Scrolls, acanthus leaves and grapes adorn the border of the frame. On the reverse, there are two holes where screws once held something. I have no idea what that may be. There is also an "A" or "H" engraved into the back of the frame, which still retains its original gilding. The portrait size is 3 1/2" X 3", and overall frame size: 5 1/2" X 4 1/4". Additional photos upon request.
