Unusual and elegant vintage Chinese or Japanese doll or dollhouse parlour furniture set c1930's - 40's
The set includes a settee and three chairs. Each piece of furniture is made out of fine lengths of bamboo secured with metal brackets. The settee and all three chairs have lovely silk patterned seat cushions, while one of the chairs also has a felt and silk thread backing piece. All three chairs are different. One has a square shaped back and is arm-less, one is arm-less with a rounded back and the third chair has arms.
Each piece is in excellent condition. The settee measures 5 1/2" in length, 2 1/2" in depth and 4 1/2" in height. The arm-less rounded back chair measures 4 1/2" in height, 2 1/4" in depth and 2 1/2" in width. The chair with arms measures 4 1/2" in height, 3" in width and 2 1/2" in depth. The arm-less chair with the square back measures 4 3/4" in height, 3" in width at the top and 2 1/2" in depth. Please note that the bottom wooden piece on the front of the settee (As seen in the photo) is not broken, but has simply come loose from the the leg. I will reglue it.
