This charming, Chinese cloisonné enamel box is of date unknown but I believe second half of the 20th century.
It is 2” (5.1cms) tall and is 1 and 3/8” ( 3.1cms) across the base. It weighs 41 grams.
With a base enamel of vibrant yellow, the front has a delightfui image of a white bird in flight and a deer with horns. A tree continues onto the back where there is a further tree with white blossom. The top has green edging and blue flowers. The design is intricate and fascinating.
The top pulls off easily. The lid is also colourfully ornamented and edged with gilt. The base is plain gilt metal.
I fell in love with this piece at first sight. It has multiple uses and would make a superb gift. In excellent vintage condition, it will arrive in a gift box,
