These fabulous French earrings were made by the company, Bressans, in the eastern French city of Bourg en Bresse. Bressans has been making beautiful enamel jewellery since 1850. They work with French 800-900 silver and 18 carat gold. The designs are hand crafted to a unique method .
These gold washed, silver enamel earrings date to the mid 20th century and are clips. They bear the French crab hallmark for 800-900 silver quality.
They measure 9/16” (1.3cms) across and together weigh 5.2 grams.
The enamel centres are set high, bezel set with fine cording around the edges. The rich red enamel background glistens in the light. They are delightfully decorated with gold curlicues. In the centre of each is a pretty floral motif with white enamel petals with faint black dots.Between them translucent green enamel, jewelled drops.
The gold on the backs is smoothly finished with only the slightest signs of use. They have the crab mark and a losenge shaped maker’s mark. The clips are firm and comfortable.
These stunning earrings are in excellent vintage condition with no enamel loss.
They will arrive carefully presented in a gift box.
