This Victorian, silver locket is quite beautiful in its simplicity. It is unmarked as many were but tests to sterling silver.
It measures 2” (5cms) long , including the bail, by 1 and 1/8” (3cms) across. It weighs a substantial 18 grams.
The oval, slightly domed, locket has a raised cross on the front. It is outlined for effect and is 4mms thick.
At the top is a ring and a large bail.
The locket opens via a notch at the side. The interior is lined with white ribbed silk. The rims and covers are intact. It closes with a soft snap.
The back is plain silver.
In excellent antique condition, this lovely religious locket is very rare. It would be perfect to carry a memento of someone dear. It will arrive carefully presented in a gift box.
