This breathtakingly beautiful, Art Nouveau perfume bottle pendant is unmarked . My testing of the top confirmed silver but I have now concluded that it is heavily plated. Its origin is difficult to determine but it is definitely from continental Europe, This is a piece that would have hung from a lady’s chatelaine belt but these days would make a lovely pendant for a long chain.

It measures 2½” (6.5cms) long and 1 and 3/8” (3.5cms) across the widest part. It weighs 20.3 grams.

It has a most elegant, tapering shape, gently rounded on each side . It is bordered with leafy swirls . On the front is a beautiful, raised image of a swan on water with reeds in the background.

The back has a similar border but the centre is attractively hammered.

The hinged lid has a delicate pierced design with a flower on the top. Within is a cork stopper which I have not attempted to remove.
There are rings attached to the shoulders to which chains are attached leading to a large ring for hanging.

This exquisite and very rare piece is in excellent antique condition. It will arrive in a gift box.
