This exquisite, Art Nouveau case probably once held a pencil but could be used now as a needle case. It .bears French, boar’s heads hallmarks for 800-900 silver quality.
It measures 2½” (6.5cms) long and 3/8” (0.9cms) wide. It weighs 2.7 grams.
The case carries a delightful, repoussé design of flowers and leaves. The delicately engraved flowers have elegantly formed leaves. There are also little buds. The design is the same on both sides.
You pull on the plain top to reveal the empty interior. The plain area carries a pair of boars’ heads. It closes firmly.
In fine antique condition with just the smallest signs of age and use, this charmoing piece will arrive in a gift box.
