Here is a truly beautiful antique French Art Nouveau (Belle Epoque)-circa 1900 pendant/mirror. It might have been worn by some young lady at a ball at the turn of the century or on a housewife’s chatelaine belt.
The oval pendant is made of silver plated brass. It measures 2½” (6.3cms) long by 1 5/8” (4.1cms) wide. These measurements include the attached ring at the top. It weighs a substantial 30.3 grams. It opens smoothly sideways and holds well in its original position.
On both sides are replicated the loveliest repoussé design. There is a superb decoration of a sprig of holly with tiny berries.
Within is a single mirror in great condition with a corded brass surround. At the top of the pendant is a solid double ring.
This beautiful and unusual pendant is in excellent antique condition. The plating is in fine condition and it was clearly well cared for and protected. It would be an excellent addition to a collection of Art Nouveau jewellery.
It comes to you tissue wrapped in a gift box.
