These beautiful , 18 carat gold earrings can be precisely dated to the 1950’s as they were an engagement present. They are ornamented with glittering white stones which test as spinel gemstones. I believe that they may be Italian in origin.
The earrings measure 7/8” (2.3cms) by 9/16” (1.4cms). Together they weigh 4.8 grams.
These elegant earrings have wonderfully organic, foliate detail. The edges are curved and delicately pierced with an inner line of beading. The sparkling spinels are claw set and measure 3mms and 2mms. You could mistake them for diamonds. They are set on the leaf like tiny flowers.
On the back are springy clips and the backs are smoothly finished. One if the backs is marked ‘K18’ for 18 carat gold.
These exquisite and very rare earrings are in excellent vintage condition. They will arrive in a gift box.
