This delightful porcelain and silver pin came to me from France. However I am unsure about its origin. It looks a bit Scandinavian. The silver tests as 800-900 quality. I am dating it to circa the 1930’s.
It measures 1 and 5/8” (4.2cms) and weighs 16 grams.
Set high In the centre is a pierced silver roundel with corded scrolls and silver balls. The porcelain surround is painted with a swirling green garland of exquisite leaves and flowers on a creamy background. It is held in place by tiny claws and the edge is corded silver.
The edge of the reverse is also corded. There is an old style, tubular c clip.
In fine vintage condition, this very unusual piece will arrive in gift box.
