This very substantial, Victorian locket is unmarked but tests as sterling silver. The interior carries a wonderful decoration of dried flowers.
The locket measures 2½” (6.3cms) long, including the large bail, by 1½” (3.8cms) across. It is 11mms thick and weighs a heavy 30.9 grams.
The front is puffed and engraved with an intricate foliate design. On the lower level is a finely beaded border A wide band has tiny notches and finally there are silver balls all around the outside.
At the top is a ring and a bail.
The back of the locket is plain for your own engraving .It has a fined lined border.
It opens via a groove on the right. The interior is quite stunning. On a border of finely textured cream silk are exquisite arrangements of dried flowers. Covers and rims are fully intact. The locket closes with a soft click.
In excellent antique condition, this fabulous locket will arrive in a gift box.
