This charming Art Nouveau circa 1900 pin bears the French boar's head hallmark for 800-900 silver quality. It is signed by the celebrated French engraver, Emile Dropsy (1858-1923).
It measures 13/16” (2.1cms) across. It weighs 3.1 grams.
The front has a delicate repoussé image of a young lady with a large, plumed hat. She has a very pretty face and the feathers of her hat overlap the edge of the pin in true Art Nouveau style. There are frills on her shoulders and at her bust a large bow. On either side there are sweet swirling flowers. The signature `E Dropsy' is at top left.
On the back there is an old style c clip with the boar's head denoting 800-900 silver quality. The design carries on to the back with beautiful flowers and leaves.
Here is a quite delightful and authentic, Art Nouveau pin. It is in fine antique condition and comes to you carefully presented in a gift box.
