This superb , Arts and Crafts ring is made of sterling silver (tested) and carnelian agate. I believe it might be Austro-Hungarian but there are no identifiable marks.
It fits a US 5 ¾ and UK K½. The front measures 1” (2.5cms ) by 1 and 13/16” (2.1cms). The ring weighs 5.9 grams.
The front is set with a translucent, carnelian agate in a lovely shade of burnt orange. It is bezel set in silver with a frame of delicately veined leaves. There are silver balls in the centre of each side. There is a mark on one of the straight sides which I am unable to identify.
Within the ring is a mark ‘C’ with the rest of any inscription worn away. The back of the ring is also delicately engraved.
In excellent antique condition, this beautiful ring could be worn by a man or a woman. It will arrive in a gift box.
