This charming, chain mail purse is French from the Art Nouveau period circa 1900. It bears French boar’s head hallmarks for 800-900 silver quality. Originally it would have hung from a lady’s chatelaine belt. Today it makes a delightful accessory and could be used as a pendant.

The scalloped, decorative frame has a wonderful , repoussé design different on each side and also a ring for attaching to a chain. On one side are lovely flowers, probably chrysanthemums, and on the other side with the ring a stem of buds and leaves.
The clasp opens and closes easily. There are three boar’s heads on the sides.
The mesh purse is particularly fine and beautifully shaped. It is in excellent condition with no holes.
This exquisite purse is in fine antique condition and so useful for carrying a few coins, especially when attending a special function. It comes to you tissue wrapped in a gift box.
