This beautiful silver enamel rose locket bears silver marks which I am unable to identify. These lockets are usually Austrian or Swiss. The silver tests to around 800-900 quality. I am dating it to circa 1920
It measures 1” (2.5cms) across and weighs 6 grams.
The front is enamelled in palest blue. The fine , wavy lines beneath the enamel create a lovely shimmer. There is a delicate, scalloped ring of gold leaf. In the centre is a really exquisite, pink painted rose with green leaves.
At the top is a ring and a bail.
The locket opens via notches at the top. The inside is clean. One side has a rim and a paper lining. There are hallmarks on the rim. The locket closes firmly, although not with a click. The back is plain silver.
This beautiful locket is in fine vintage, almost antique, condition with no enamel loss. It will arrive in a gift box.
