This striking , Art Nouveau buckle is made of brass with black and white enamelling.

It measures 3½” (8.5cms) by 2 and1/16” (5.3cms).

The pierced buckle has a lovely , pierced, swirling shape. Each side has an exquisite, stylised leaf and flower design. The stems swirl around in true Art Nouveau style and the detail is outlined in gilt.

The gilded brass back has a loop fastening and two bars to hold the fabric.

The condition of the enamel is generally very good with no loss and only the tiniest surface wear. There are some signs of age and use on the reverse.
