These stunning sterling silver and paste drop earrings are in their original box. They have screw backs and are rhodium placed. I believe they date to the mid 20th century and are English in origin.
They are 1 and 5/8” (4.3cms) long and 5/8” (1.5cms) across the widest part. Together they weigh 7.1 grams.
A slim , paste studded top carries the fully functional screws. There is a paste roundel and then a really stunning drop. First comes a loop and then an exquisite clover shape with a baguette stone in the centre and glittering pastes forming the outline.
The backs are beautifully finished with shiny rhodium, used to prevent the silver from tarnishing.
The earrings sit firmly in their lemon velvet home. The lid is lined with padded cream silk. The box closes firmly. It measures 3½” (8.8cms) by 2 and 3/8” (6.1cms). It is covered with a snakeskin print material with some signs of age. It has a sloped front and a gold crown in the centre which possibly suggests a jeweller with a Royal Warrant.
I believe that these wonderful earrings have not been much worn. They have been kept carefully preserved in their special box. They will come to you very carefully protected.
