This beautiful, circa 1880 Victorian collar is unmarked but tests to sterling silver.
It is 19¼” (49cms) long and 3/8” (0.9cms) wide. It weighs 22.4 grams.
The collar has gently rounded, rectangular links which are pierced diagonally. They are finished with a silver ball in the centre. They are joined by flat, plain oval links.
At the centre is a large ring clasp. The purpose of this is to facilitate the attachment of a locket.
The back is flat and smoothly finished to lie flat.
