This most impressive bracelet bears full English hallmarks for the year 1974. It was made in the Arts and Crafts style of sterling silver and blue chalcedony agate.
It measures 7½” (19cms) long by ½” (1.5cms) wide. It weighs 25.6 grams.
Along the bracelet are five , oval, chalcedony cabochons in the most wonderful shade of mid blue. They are bezel set in silver and are Joined to the adjacent links by short double chains. The links are pierced and decorated with sweet flowers and leaves. In the centre of each is a round blue chalcedony.
The reverse is neatly finished and you will note that all the stones are open backed for maximum reflection.
The bracelet closes with a push in clasp which has a safety device. It holds firm.
The push in section bears the lion passant for sterling silver. At the other end is the maker’s mark ‘SBros’ and then the English hallmarks. These are the anchor for the Birmingham assay office, the lion passant for sterling silver and the date letter ‘Z’ for 1974.
This quite magnificent and very beautiful bracelet is in excellent vintage condition and will arrive in a gift box.
