This delightful, gold washed silver, enamel compact pendant is double sided and marked ‘935S’ on the bail. This is a higher quality than sterling and identifies it as Swiss or Austrian in origin. I am dating it to circa 1920’s to 1930’s.
The pendant measures 1¼” (3.1cms) across and weighs 15.3 grams.
It is exquisitely enamelled front and back in shimmering, pearly white with a fine engine turned design. The front is exquisitely painted with a circle of pink roses and green leaves.
At the top there is a tiny ring, through which is threaded a larger bail. This is marked ‘935S’ for higher than sterling silver quality.
The compact opens via a little tab at the front. Inside is an intact mirror. The interior has a bright gold wash. It marked with a star and ‘2’. It closes with a satisfying click.
This fabulous piece is in fine vintage condition with intact enamel. It will arrive carefully presented in a gift box.
