This delightful, French Art Nouveau, flower clip carries no decipherable hallmark, However it tests to 800-900 silver quality. I am dating it to circa 1895-1900.
The general purpose of this clip was to define and hold together long, chains or fine ropes of pearls. However it could also be used on a ribbon for a choker.
The clip measures 7/16” (1.9cms) by ½” (1.6cms). It weighs 1.4 grams.
This really pretty flower is delicately engraved and slightly overlaps the ring around it in the true style of Art Nouveau.
On the reverse is a double clip which functions as it should.
This adorable clip is in excellent antique condition. It will arrive carefully wrapped in tissue in a gift box.
