Important 1930s Red Bakelite Articulated Slices Geometric Brooch Pin. A large lips shaped element is the base of this pin, and sus[pended and attached to this base element are three zones of thinly sliced bakelite elements rotating on a metal pin so that they move freely up and down as wearer moves. Left and right sides have 6 slices, center section has 5 slices. This pin also comes in red cream and blue and is associated with both nautical and patriotic bakelite brooches. This one resembles a kind of military above jacket pocket row of medals. Unusual and special and chunky! 2.7" wide by 1.25" tall. Pinback is original, present and functions perfectly.
