Early 20th C Celluloid Polychromed Cane/Parasol Handle. I've acquired a major collection of cane and parasol handles in bakelite and celluloid, from the 1920s and 1930s. Ill be listing them all here on Ruby Lane over the next months. They of course can easily be made back into canes, or with a drop more effort, parasols. I also attach magnifying glass to some of them and make them utilitarian magnifiers. I also have mounted them as miniature sculptures on marble or acrylic plinths, and they show beautifully that way, or just in a collection, like any thing! This example is floral in tone with a large pall brightly polychromed ball top approximately 1.2" in diameter. The rest of the handle adds another 5 inches to the entire length and is approximately .66 in diameter at the bottom, tapering up to approximately 1.25" on top., Flowers and added geometrics make this lovely object a wonderful example of 1920s style and tone. There is a receptacle hole for cane, parasol, glass or sculpture mount. Excellent vintage condition. Watch for a plethora of examples !
