Early 20th C Celluloid Black and Ivory Cane/Parasol Handle. I've acquired a major collection of cane and parasol handles in bakelite and celluloid, from the 1920s and 1930s. Ill be listing them all here on Ruby Lane over the next months. They of course can easily be made back into canes, or with a drop more effort, parasols. I also attach magnifying glass to some of them and make them utilitarian magnifiers. I also have mounted them as miniature sculptures on marble or acrylic plinths, and they show beautifully that way, or just in a collection, like any thing! This example is geometric in tone with the polka dot decoration, yet Edwardian in era and style. Almost 4" long with a receptacle hole for cane, parasol, glass or sculpture mount with an attached string braided looped handle for extra security. Approximately .66" in diameter at bottom widening towards the top to 1.25". Excellent vintage condition. Watch for a plethora of examples !
