Very RARE 1930s Bakelite Fruits and Vegetables Buttons Link Bracelet. As pictured in both The Bakelite Jewelry Book (1985) by Dawes/Davidoff and my own book The Bakelite Collection (1997) --this is a bracelet comprised of 18 figural fruit and vegetable buttons in both bakelite and celluloid, the celluloid ones being well known collectibles by artist Marion Weebler. All the bakelite figural buttons are just as rare and super sought after as well! 7 inches long, on 2 strands of brass chain attached by brass o rings to the button looped hardware, the chain is attached in the center so the two strands of attached buttons hold together when worn on the wrist. Spring ring clasp closure. Lots of motion but fitted-- so its quite comfy to wear. Larger or smaller wrist? Add o rings of brass to the two ends to add length as much as you need, too petite?--add o rings further up the bracelet to wear for smaller wrists. Buttons themselves are highly collectible and each of the 18 are desirable unto themselves, but when combined into a jumble of vegetable and fruit salad- the figural whimsy, color and impact is OFF THE CHARTS! These bracelets were not assembled as bracelets in the 1930s as bracelets, but were all collected by individual and collectors as buttons--- and attached to chain to make into wearable chain bracelets. FUN FUN FUN! A party on the wrist of oranges apples corn asparagus peppers pears berries and lots more! Excellent vintage condition. Write with question on how to order my book!
