1930s Art Deco Bakelite Era PLASKON Red and Black Presentation Ring Box. 1.5" square. A channeled black bottom with a brass hinged attached top, which flips up and reveals a padded ring slotted presentation box. Art deco channeling in this molded thermoplastic NOT bakelite, but made at the same time in the 1930s, and frequently styled in the most quintessential Art Deco Geometric style. Quonset Hut shaped red plaskon top has some sculptural detail in focally placed finial decoration on the top and the sides. The base is rectangular/square and stamped on the bottom with a patent number and a company of manufacture from New York. Excellent vintage condition.
