This great wooden carving came back with us from France. It depicts a bird, just shot by a hunter and hung upside down on a wall. These have been popular items for centuries in most countries that hunt in the fall as they remind us of natures bounty. The bird is made of a medium wood with good detail. The plaque is set on a background with a beaded edge and that is set on a wall plaque that allows the piece to hang. Condition is very good, the hanging hook on the back has been moved a couple of times over its life. There are no breaks or cracks in the bird or the background.
Measurements are: 7 ½” by 5 5/8” and 2 ½” deep.
