This classic Regency foot stool is just perfect for a classic décor. It has great lines, is made of sturdy solid mahogany with brass tipped paw feet that are splayed out. The needle point cover is very well done with a stylized bird in a cartouche surrounded by flowers. All parts are in very good condition with no visible damage. The Regency style of furniture evolved in the reign of the Prince of Wales as Regent and remained fashionable until 1830. It is a further development of Georgian style with strong Greek and Egyptian influences. It is generally symmetrical, linear, graceful and well proportioned. It is said to have a graceful classical feel. Measurements are: 22 ½” by 10 ¾” and 9 ½” tall.
