This well composed, oil on panel work features a look down a country lane. The brush strokes are loose and expressive. The work features a balanced view between the cottages and the small grove of trees. The perspective view down the lane draws the eye towards the village in the distance on the horizon. The colors are cheerful greens and blues. The artist signed the work on the lower left but the signature is indistinguishable. The painting stands on its own merits; fresh and optimistic.
The work measures 4 ½” by 6 ½” to sight and 11” by 13” in the contemporary gilt composition frame which also features a beige inner liner. The paint surface is stable and shows no retouches or repairs under UV light.
