This brush and mirror set was designed according to the fashion of the day, dominated by Queen Victoria, the much beloved British monarch This sterling vanity set is a survivor of the era.This set has the clean elongated lines with elegant scroll work around the back of mirror and brush, with a tapered handle to give the pieces style and grace. Both the backs of the mirror and the brush are monogrammed. The pieces are marked WC, which stands for Webster & Co, now a division of Reed & Barton.
Condition of the pieces is good, there are a few marks and dimples on the back of the mirror and the glass has damage to the silvering as expected with original pieces like this. These are consistent with age and use. The brush is clean and has a wood foundation for the bristles. The wood has some loss of varnish in between the bristles.
Measurements are: mirror 12 1/2” Long and 4” wide, brush is 10” long and 3” wide.
