This 19th Century embossed copper box is great for next to the fire place or by itself as a decorative storage piece. the box has great embossing: the top has two lions holding a shield with a fleur de lis, a dagger a cross and two crossed keys in a shield. The front of the box has another coat of arms, this one with a knight's helmet and a shield with a cross and two birds. The piece is old and has seen quite a bit of use: it has a great patina with some age related green residue on the copper. The inside is lined in metal as well and that also shows use and age: there is some rust and loss of paint. The box has four feet. It is otherwise in good functioning order, great for kindling or logs next to the fire place or some other type of storage.
Measurements are: 18" by 12" by 12".
