This is a first edition of the book written after Jean Carpenter Arnold passed away. It contains her notes on the mother-play songs by Froebel, the famous early childhood educator who pioneered early childhood development. Carpenter was a teacher at the Chicago Kindergarten School in the end of the 19th to the beginning of the 20th century. She was much loved and famous for her lessons to would be Kindergarden teachers. This is a very rare book, valued by all early childhood educators as it is a timeless classic. The book is in very good condition with some underlining and notes in the margins ( all in pencil so they could be erased). The binding is tight and the pages are otherwise clean and present.
