If you are like many households, you have a collection of silver from various grannies. May be they are not all perfectly matched, but decidedly elegant and showy. This set would be a great expansion for the extra course or extra guests that may come to dinner or a party.
The set consists of 6 large knives, Rogers and Meriden co., 6 dinner forks by the same company and in the same pattern, and 6 smaller knives, unmarked as for maker but all marked sterling with a similar but not identical pattern. These also have a monogram.
The set also contains a large and ornate double sided knife, probably for cake. It has one serrated edge and an un-serrated edge. Both the handle and the blade are richly engrave and decorated with grapes and leaves. It is unmarked except for an E on one side. All pieces have been used, so there are use scratches on all the pieces. The large cake knife has a slight unevenness on the smooth edge.
