This small volume, published at Collins Clear-Type Press Glasgow, London & Glasgow, is not dated. It is one of the later novels published by William Makepeace Thackeray. The book is handsomely illustrated by T. H. Robinson.
Thackeray, the author of famous books like Vanity Fair, is known for his satire and parodies of High Society in the first half of the 19th century. He lived from 1811 – 1863
The book is bound in burgundy leatherette and has gold lettering on the front and spine. The spine also has a gold band of leaves. The illustrations and text are very clear, the book is well bound and even still has its silk bookmark.
