This oil on board features an atmospheric depiction of a back bay along the shore of Cape Cod. The artist hailed originally from Chargin falls, Ohio, where he was a commercial artist. He retired to Chatham, Mass and painted the local Cape cod shores.
The work is anchored by swaths of white sand, green march grass and a single white rowboat. The work measures 13 ½" by 24" and 20" by 30" in its wood frame matted with burlap. The artist signed the work on the lower left and it is titled on the verso. The overall condition of the canvas is very good.
