Here is an old 2 piece hollow carved wood NJ Delaware River black duck decoy with carved raised wings and tail carving characteristic of the Florence area carvers. Decoy has tack eyes, feather painting on head and body, carved bill with screw driver indented nostrils. Decoy has an applied with screws lead weight and remnant of screwed on leather leader loop. Paint on body looks original. Head may have been repainted but it is old paint.. There is chipping to head paint on cheeks and bill. The decoy is sturdy with only a little sliver on left edge of bill under side showing wear. Seam are tight . The decoy is 15" long, 5.5" high at head and about 5" wide. Weight is setback. Bottom is flat. There is a tight inserted plug in front of the weight.. Decoy has age and appears to be from about 1920. It is an attractive decoy with nice painted surface .
