Here is a plain and simple 19th Century South Jersey free blown glass darning egg in a wonderful shade of Aquamarine. The darner is 7" long and 2.5" through the head. It has a sheared pontil at the handle end. It is a later 19th Century form. The darner was found in Southern NJ and was probably made after hours by a worker at one of the glass houses located in this area that made bottles and flasks..
