Here is a 19th Century Linen Man doll with needle sculpted nose,, ears and chin and embroidered eyes and mouth. The doll has yarn hair with some patches of loss a nicely formed body with straight arms and legs tab jointed at hips and shoulders. Arms are made of a light patterned linen with homespun linen lower arms and beautifully crafted hands with slender separate fingers. The man has stitched on under drawers, black stockings and leather shoes. He has a knit under shirt, ivory linen blouse that opens down the back and closes with cloth loops and hooks.He wear Linen sailor jacket and pants that open on both sides and close with hooks and tread loops. The man has age patina on his face. He is 17" tall.. The doll is American and probably from New England even though he was found in NJ. Clothing and doll are sturdy and in good condition as described.
