Here is an impressive lady doll with beautiful quality bisque head made by Simon Halbig and great labeled Jumeau lady body. The doll head has fine quality bisque and painting. The doll has painted molded brown brows, big blue glass sleep eyes in almond shape eye cuts, with original lid finish, fur upper lashes and painted lower lashes. Cheeks have delicate even blush. She has a coral open mouth in Simon Halbig style with inserted upper teeth and darker coral lip accents. Ears are pierced. There is a tiny pepper mark above the corner of the left eye. Her bisque is otherwise free of rubs, chips or hairlines..
The doll has a wonderful lady body with hour glass torso and long legs. Arms are slender. The body has original finish and is fully jointed. Hands and feet are intact and have good finish with red details.. There is a paper label on her buttocks stamped "Jumeau Bebe Medaille D'OR".
The doll has her original chesnut colored wig in loose upo held with combs. She has a cork pate.
She wears a period hand stitched late Victorian or Edwardian day dress with 2 floating panels and surplice top. The dress is linen lined. It has sashes attached at the sides that tie in back. There is a small hole on the right sleeve, otherwise it is in good conition.Underneath she wears a pretty camisole that buttons in back, linen pantaloons with green ribbon leg ties and, petticoat with many narrow pleats all the way around She has great French type antique tan kid lace up boots and interesting long woven striped stockings with loss and homespun patch repair. She is a very pretty "French " lady doll with German head made in the later Jumeau period.
