This nice 15.5" early Simon Halbig has a long face, high cut head, sky blue threaded paper weight eyes and small coral pink closed mouth with red outing the bow, bottom lip and between the lips. Her mouth corners are extended and squared off. She has black painted upper and lower lashes, dark blond brows, pale bisque, uniform blush and deep chin dimple. Her ears are pierced and she has pink glass earrings. There is a little flake on her right earring hole. Her bisque is otherwise free of rubs, chips or hairlines. She is on her original early Simon Halbig wood & composition body with fixed wood balls, wood straight upper legs and one piece lower arms with cupped mitten hands. Hands and fingers are intact.The body retains most of the original finish She has a lovely long strawberry blond wavy mohair wig, cardboard pate, black net stockings and old black ankle strap shoes. Her antique dress is ivory lawn with tucks and lace. It has a drop waist and cream silk ribbon trim. There are some age stains but otherwise in good sturdy condition. She has old & possibly original pantaloons and gathered short petticoat. Made about 1885 and to compete with the French market. She is a nice example of this mold.
