Here is an old NJ made Brant stick up decoy found at a NJ estate auction in Manahawken, NJ over 2 decades ago. The estate had many early NJ baskets and area decoys as well as other old things. This one has been hanging on one of my walls with other NJ items since them. But have run out of space so he will hopefully find a loving new home. The stick up is jointed at the stake/stand, neck and head. He has assumed many poses on the wall over the years. The Brant has fine feather painting on his back and wings. He has a snakey looking head yellow eyes. Body is 20" long. Head up and stake down is about 27" high. He folds up for storage as shown. He is a most unusual folky primitive looking. He was described as 19th century when he was auctioned off. Paint looks early.
