This is a very old pair of faded blue and ecru cotton crochet slippers but I doubt that they are as old as the 1880's china doll from whose feet they were removed. I believe 1930-40 would be a good estimate of the manufacturing period for these lovely slippers. They are very appropriate, however, for a doll with slender cloth or leather feet. They measure 2-1/2 inches in length and 1 inch across the toe. The soles are made of old heavy cardboard and both soles have an insignificant crack across the middle. The ankles are threaded with faded blue silk ribbon and they have blue silk ribbon bows on each instep. These are beautiful and quite appropriate for an antique china doll, parian or even a paper mache lady.
