Believed to be of German manufacture, possibly by Gebruder Heubach, with some illegible numbers incised on the lower edge of the clothing, this is a beautiful Asian lady dressed in her pink and green kimono. She stands 4-3/4 inches tall. I hope you will take a close up view of her face to see the outstanding artistry in the facial features and the intensity of her expression. Her eyelids are heavily molded and her mouth is drawn tense as she works. On Page 125 of "Heubach Character Dolls and Figurines" by Lydia Richter and Karin Schmelcher there are two very similar Asian lady figurines that have the Heubach Sunburst mark. I have never seen any of the Asian figurines by Heubach but believe this is one of them. This is a beautiful quality porcelain figurine and will make a lovely addition to an Asian collection.
